Defence data integration
Dozens of systems. One consistent picture. Delivered to every system that needs it, on schedule.
An armed force runs on many systems: planning, personnel, material, vehicles, real estate, ERP. Each holds part of the picture. Our data integration platforms put the parts together — and hand every consumer exactly the slice it needs.
Two hubs, one landscape
- Reference data hub. Collects the planning data of the force, reconciles it into one authoritative reference — units, formations, structures — and delivers tailored datasets to every system downstream.
- Logistics data warehouse. Brings together personnel, administration, medical, vehicle registration and several ERP logistics systems into one warehouse with a day-current view of stock, equipment, budgets and real estate. Then delivers a tailored extract to each partner system.
Together they connect more than 25 systems — planning, command, personnel, logistics, administration and ERP — through more than 100 interface processes. Data is consolidated, aggregated, historised and prepared for each target as it needs it.
The pipeline
- Import from every source into a staging area
- Consolidate into the warehouse and reconcile against the reference
- Provision an export reference
- Deliver target-specific data marts — by database, file transfer or web service
Processes run on a schedule or on demand, check their dependencies first and report success, warning or error to the administrators. Ordinary users start and monitor predefined processes; they never touch the pipeline itself.
Every interface documented
Every data flow between our systems and the rest of the landscape — which data, which direction, how often, which transfer — is kept in one registry and published as an architecture model and an offline reference. The registry also determines which system is the master of each data element.
Built on MetaBase and MetaMove
Both hubs run on MetaBase and its scheduled data-movement engine, MetaMove — the same program as a headless service or as an administration console. Talk to an engineer.
