Command data preparation — a unit template derived from the force structure and exported as structured data

A command-and-control system needs to know what a unit looks like before it can place one on a map. Our command data preparation system builds that knowledge from the force’s own planning data — once a year, for every formation.

From structure to type

  1. Import the year’s force structure from the reference data hub — staged, then reconciled
  2. Derive reusable formation types by rule, with inheritance and fine-grained material distribution
  3. Enrich with standard codes, capabilities and military symbols
  4. Export to command-and-control systems as XML, and to planning and tactical tools as Excel

Quality before delivery

Every type is checked before it leaves: completeness, circular references, duplicate names. Mappings to international standard codes are validated against business rules and can make the round-trip through Excel for review. Tactical, technical and supervisory reviewers sign off in their own step.

Built for the people who maintain it

  • Master data — materials, personnel functions, capabilities, facility and feature types, civilian organisation types
  • Military symbols — edited in place with the MSS® symbol editor
  • Four languages — every text translated, with its own review workflow
  • Access matrix — groups, roles and levels generated for the target system
  • Delivery notes and logs — every export traceable
