Data protection

gs-soft AG is the controller for personal data processed via this website (address as above; e-mail via the contact page).

Server logs

Our hosting provider records technical request data in standard server log files (IP address, date and time, referrer URL, browser and operating system version). These logs are kept on a short rolling window for operational and security purposes (delivery, capacity planning, abuse defence) and are not used to identify individual visitors.

Web analytics — Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), on every page to understand how our pages are used. GA4 sets a first-party cookie (_ga) and processes pseudonymous usage data: truncated IP address, page paths, language, device and browser class, approximate region.

The data is transmitted to Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA, USA). Google is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which provides an adequacy basis for the transfer. IP addresses are anonymised by Google Analytics. Retention period: 14 months.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the use of our website (Art. 31 revFADP).

Opting out: you can prevent the collection at any time by installing Google’s browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics, or by blocking cookies for this site in your browser settings.

Your rights

Under the EU GDPR and the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) you have the right to:

  • request information about the personal data we hold about you (right of access);
  • ask us to correct inaccurate data or to erase data we no longer need;
  • object to processing or restrict it;
  • opt out of web analytics at any time (see above);
  • lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority — in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, in the EU your local national authority.

To exercise any of these rights, write to gs-soft AG at the address above or use the contact page.

No sale of personal data

We do not sell personal data and, except for the analytics provider named above, do not pass it on to third parties beyond our own operational needs (hosting, server logs).
